When we purchased the building in December 2004, we were aware that Bauen had, a decade earlier, renovated the ground floor as a clinic for Huggins Hospital. A short telephone interview with you led me to urge to my colleagues that Bauen be engaged again as construction managers for our alterations. A decision well made. You were most cooperative and accommodating in working with me as architect in defining, pricing, and scheduling the work, and helping us with those inevitable unpleasant surprises on discovers in a century-old structure.

The project had moved along well ahead of schedule and the quality of the work has been very good. A number of unexpected problems developed in the early stages of the project. These were in no way attributable to Bauen, and I mention them only because I suspect that may projects experience challenges that were unforeseen at the beginning. In each of these problem situations, Bauen sized up the problem and helped me understand it, worked diligently to explore options for solving the problem and then negotiated with either the town or the subs for a reasonable and timely solution.
