Portfolio: Schools

K. A. Brett

Additions to the K. A. Brett School include nine classrooms, a gymnasium, locker rooms, and a stage that doubles as a music room. By using a folding acoustical wall, the stage can be used as a music room when the gym is also in full use.

Alton Central

Bauen Corporation was the successful low bidder by only $7000 in this eventual $3.9 million dollar project. The project was completed on time despite the owner’s addition of $700,000 (22%) to the original scope of work valued at $3.2 million.

Plymouth State

Faced with replacing the heating pipes and baseboard radiation, as well as gutting and renovating bathrooms on all seven floors of the dormitory over a four-month period, we assembled a crackerjack team of subcontractors.

Plymouth: Lamson Library

Extensive phased renovations included several offices, classrooms, learning labs, video editing workrooms and computer work stations.

NHTI

The Bistro project was a renovation and addition to an existing snack bar/patio area of Sweeney Hall.

Freedom School

The exterior of the addition was designed to match the existing building, using wood roof trusses and asphalt shingles.

Effingham

The Effingham Elementary School was built to replace their existing two-room school and relieve overcrowding at the Ossipee Central School as well.

Samuel Read Hall

Bauen Corporation was the construction manager on this large scale renovation project. The 30,000 sf building was completely renovated from a dormitory into classroom and office space.

Carpenter Elementary

The Carpenter Elementary School was a fast-track project. Almost the entire school was to be renovated without any additional new space added.

Madison

In order to add the new addition to the existing building, the original school building had to be removed. Demolition, along with roads, drainage, and concrete work took place during the Summer of 2000 to minimize the inconvenience to school operations in the Fall.

Tuftonboro Central

The addition and renovation project at Tuftonboro Central School involved adding new classrooms and a complete kitchen, plus renovating the multi-purpose room and various existing classrooms.
